    1. Overview
      On 14 March 2023, SayPro, in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Social Development, successfully conducted a Call Centre Training session for 5 participants in Diepsloot. This training forms part of SayPro’s mission to enhance employability by providing participants with practical communication and customer service skills essential for careers in the contact centre industry.
    2. Objectives of the Training
      To introduce participants to the fundamentals of call centre operations

    To build effective telephone communication and active listening skills

    To prepare participants for entry-level roles in customer service environments

    To promote professional behaviour and problem-solving techniques in client-facing roles

    To strengthen collaborative efforts in youth skills development and employment readiness

    1. Training Content Covered
      The training session addressed the following core modules:

    Introduction to Call Centres – understanding the call centre environment and industry demands

    Customer Service Excellence – handling inquiries, managing complaints, and client engagement

    Telephone Etiquette – tone, clarity, professionalism, and call handling techniques

    Listening and Communication Skills – active listening, empathy, and assertiveness

    Basic CRM Usage – overview of customer relationship management systems

    Workplace Readiness – time management, teamwork, and stress handling in high-pressure settings

      All 5 participants were actively engaged throughout the session and participated in role-playing scenarios

    Theoretical concepts were reinforced through group discussions and live simulations

    Participants demonstrated a strong interest in the field and showed eagerness to practice skills learned

    A pre-and post-training self-assessment was conducted, reflecting a marked improvement in knowledge and confidence

    Recommendations:

    Introduce more practical simulations and access to CRM demo platforms

    Explore partnerships with call centre employers for internships or job shadowing

    Expand the training to larger groups to encourage greater peer interaction
