Introduction
The SayPro NPO Web Design Competition invites talented individuals and teams to design a professional, user-friendly, and impactful website for a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) that aligns with SayPro’s values of social responsibility, innovation, and community empowerment.
Participants will be matched with an NPO in need of a website redesign or development, giving them the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while showcasing their design and development skills.
Competition Goals
- Enhance the online presence of non-profit organizations.
- Provide talented designers and developers with an opportunity to apply their skills in real-world projects.
- Foster innovation in web design with a focus on accessibility, usability, and impact.
- Encourage collaboration between participants and NPOs to create effective digital solutions.
Who Can Participate?
- Individual web designers and developers.
- Teams of up to four members (designers, developers, and content creators).
- University students, professionals, and freelancers with experience in web design and development.
Competition Format & Phases
1. Registration & NPO Matching (January 1 – January 15)
- Participants register individually or in teams.
- SayPro matches participants with an NPO based on needs and project scope.
- Introductory sessions with the assigned NPO to understand their goals, target audience, and branding.
2. Website Planning & Wireframing (January 16 – January 31)
- Conduct research on the NPO’s mission, audience, and existing website (if any).
- Develop wireframes and prototypes.
- Submit the initial design concept for feedback.
3. Design & Development (February 1 – February 28)
- Build the website using industry-standard tools and technologies.
- Ensure mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and SEO optimization.
- Integrate features requested by the NPO (e.g., donation portals, contact forms, event pages).
- Midway check-in with SayPro mentors and the NPO.
4. Submission & Final Evaluation (March 1 – March 10)
- Final website submission, including a presentation document explaining key design choices.
- Live demonstration of the website.
- SayPro’s panel of judges evaluates based on design, functionality, usability, accessibility, and innovation.
5. Awards & Recognition (March 15)
- Announcement of winners and outstanding projects.
- Certificates, prizes, and opportunities for further collaboration with NPOs.
- Top websites will be featured on SayPro’s platform and social media.
