Objective:
The primary goal of the SayPro 5-Day Team-Building Camp is to enhance teamwork, trust, and communication through engaging activities, games, and problem-solving exercises. By the end of the camp, participants should have developed stronger collaborative skills, better communication habits, and deeper trust within their teams.
Day 1: Introduction and Foundation Building
Focus Areas: Icebreakers, communication, and team bonding.
- 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM:Welcome & Overview
- Introduction to the program.
- Overview of the objectives and the importance of teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
- Outline of the 5-day schedule.
- Group expectations and guidelines for the camp.
- 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM:Icebreaker Activities
- “Two Truths and a Lie”: Each participant shares two truths and one lie about themselves. Others have to guess which one is the lie.
- “Human Knot”: Participants stand in a circle, grab hands with two different people across from them, and try to untangle themselves without letting go.
- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM:Effective Communication Workshop
- Activity: “Silent Line-up” – Without speaking, teams are tasked to line up in order of birthdays or alphabetical order based on names.
- Group discussion about non-verbal communication, problem-solving under pressure, and the importance of active listening.
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break
- 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM:Group Challenges
- Trust Fall Exercise: One team member falls backward into the arms of others, trusting their teammates to catch them.
- “Minefield”: Set up an obstacle course (minefield) with various objects. One participant is blindfolded, while another provides verbal instructions to guide them safely through the course. Focus is on communication and trust.

Day 2: Problem-Solving and Collaboration

- Teams come together for a short team-building discussion on what they learned and how to apply it in the upcoming activities.

- “Egg Drop Challenge”: Teams are given materials (e.g., straws, tape, paper) to design a structure that will protect an egg from a high drop.
- Debrief: Teams reflect on their problem-solving process, how they communicated, and how they collaborated under pressure.

- 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM:The Marshmallow Challenge
- Teams are given spaghetti, tape, string, and one marshmallow. The challenge is to build the tallest freestanding structure with the marshmallow on top.

- 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM:Team Reflection & Debrief
- Discuss what worked, what didn’t, and how teams could improve their approach in future challenges.

Day 3: Building Trust and Teamwork
Focus Areas: Trust-building, conflict resolution, and empathy.
- 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM:Morning Recap & Icebreaker
- Brief recap of Day 2.
- “Speed Networking”: Participants pair up for 5 minutes, ask questions to learn about each other, then switch partners. This helps establish connections and trust.
- 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM:Trust-building Exercises
- “Blindfolded Obstacle Course”: One team member is blindfolded, and their team must guide them through an obstacle course using only verbal communication. Focus on trust and clear instructions.
- “Trust Walk”: In pairs, one person is blindfolded, and the other leads them through a series of challenges or obstacles while offering guidance and support.

- 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM:Conflict Resolution and Empathy Workshop
- Activity: “Role-Playing Conflict Scenarios” – Teams are given real-life workplace conflict scenarios (e.g., disagreement on strategy or roles). Each team member plays a role, and others must resolve the conflict through constructive communication.

- “Leadership Board”: Each team member is assigned a leadership role for a specific task (e.g., team planner, communicator, motivator). Teams must collaborate on a complex task and hold each other accountable for their role.
- “The Decision-Making Game”: Present teams with a high-stakes, time-limited decision-making scenario (e.g., launching a new product under a tight deadline). Teams must come to a consensus on the best course of action.

- Discuss leadership, accountability, and how to apply these lessons in everyday work environments.
Day 5: Integration and Action Planning

- “Team Stretch”: Fun and engaging group energizer to kick-start the day.

- “Escape Room Challenge”: Teams are placed in a scenario where they must solve puzzles and riddles to “escape” from a virtual or physical escape room. This incorporates all elements learned throughout the week: problem-solving, trust, communication, leadership, and collaboration.
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break
- 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM:Action Planning & Personal Reflection
- Teams reflect on the camp’s activities and identify key takeaways.
- Each participant creates a personal action plan on how they will implement teamwork and leadership strategies into their daily routines.
- Teams create a collective action plan for how they can continue to work effectively together post-camp.
- 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM:Closing Ceremony
- Teams share their action plans.
- Award ceremony for notable achievements during the camp (e.g., Best Communicator, Strongest Leader, Most Creative Team).
- Group photo and celebration of the progress made over the 5 days.
- 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM:Program Evaluation
- Participants fill out feedback forms to assess the effectiveness of the camp and suggest improvements.
