1. Opening

The meeting was opened as an open discussion platform to address challenges faced by SayPro in generating funds and to brainstorm sustainable solutions.

2. Discussion Points and Contributions
2.1 Revenue Generation through Business Activities

Ms. Rikhotso suggested tenders and catering opportunities as potential income streams.

Mr. Toka highlighted that documents already exist, which were previously discussed by all human capital.

Ms. Mabusela shared the documents outlining proposals such as selling books, buying cars for transport services, collaboration, and hosting sports competitions with a fee.

Mr. Medupe suggested that the Royal Board could explore partnerships with large retail shops.

Mr. Sekhuza supported this and proposed that such partners be integrated on the SayPro App.

Ms. Malebe raised concerns about delayed marketing strategies but seconded the importance of partnerships.

Agreement: Mr. Medupe, Mr. Magoro, and one Treasurer will follow up on this idea and step in once progress is evident.

2.2 Transport (Car, Motorbike, and Truck Services)

Ms. Rikhotso queried the practicality of purchasing a car for Uber and Bolt services.

Mr. Toka proposed an alternative: using motorbikes if a car is unaffordable.

Ms. Shihangu suggested that SayPro’s truck could be hired out for loading and offloading services.

Long-term: Rental opportunities linked to infrastructure growth in Diepsloot were raised by Ms. Ralepelle.

2.3 Training and Education Opportunities

Mr. Motapina suggested introducing a music course (DJ lessons) but highlighted the need for instruments and sponsorship.

He emphasized that sponsors would require marketing and research before investing.

Ms. Sinentlantla asked for clarity on how this would directly generate income.

Mr. Toka recommended the idea of selling books.

Mr. Motapina and Mr. Tumelo added that opening a tavern could also be viable.

2.4 Events and Competitions

Mr. Macuacua proposed hosting a Talent Show across different genres:

Income from registration fees and sponsorship.

Prizes of R1,500 per category.

T-shirt printing and sales at the event.

Concerns were raised that the talent show may require significant preparation time, so it may only be feasible next year.

Ms. Rikhotso requested a plan for a possible talent show next week while sponsorship for next year is pursued.

2.5 Car Wash Business

Development Team suggested launching a car wash service.

Ms. Ntshuxeko noted available materials (buckets, sunlight liquid, and clothes) and suggested using pavement next to the office in Diepsloot.

Ms. Malebe emphasized the need to seek sponsorship from retailers like Makro.

Mr. Sibiya cautioned that initial spending is unavoidable to gain profits.

Agreement: SayProCDR could lend money to purchase utensils, which will be refunded when business stabilizes.

2.6 Baking and Food Distribution

Ms. Ralepelle proposed starting with baking scones, muffins, and cakes, using distributors instead of producing ingredients internally.

She mentioned examples such as Zubuntu, who used distributors to finance capital costs.

She committed to conducting research on distributors and tuck shop opportunities in Diepsloot and Midrand.

Ms. Rikhotso suggested that members could contribute money to buy flour, sugar, and ingredients to kick-start the project, with reimbursement later.

2.7 Long-Term Goals

Park, Laundry, and Car Wash Complex: Ms. Ralepelle proposed acquiring land in Diepsloot for a multi-use park facility.
